Q & A Areola Pigmentation

Are there any special precautions or preparations that the client should take before the treatment to achieve the best result? No, there are no special precautions that need to be taken before the treatment.

How long does the treatment usually take? The treatment takes about 1.5 - 2 hours.

How many treatments are required? Usually, at least 2 treatments are required.

Are there any situations in which areola pigmentation cannot be performed? Yes, if surgeries are not yet completed, we cannot start. Therefore, we clarify these questions during a consultation and document them in writing.

How is the color, shape and position adapted to the individual skin types and body contours? We have developed a method that allows optimal pre-drawing. The pigments are individually matched to the sink type. The shape of the areola is pre-drawn while standing. It is only started when the drawing is correct.

Are there any risks or side effects with areola pigmentation? Yes, there is always a risk of infection, so a hygienic procedure is very important. Other side effects are unknown, provides properly approved and tested products are used.

Which products are used? With the help of sterile hygiene cartridges and Swiss color pigments, the areola and scars are pre-drawn and pigmented. Additionally, scar tissue can be softened through dermaneedling and color-matched to the skin with camouflage.

Our new Swiss Color pigments comply with all European laws and regulations that came into force on 4 January 2022. In particular, this includes all relevant provisions of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and the current version of the REACH regulation.

Can an MRI examination be carried our after areola pigmentation? Yes, after the healing phase, approximately 4 weeks later, an MRI examination can be performed.

Are there certain techniques or styles that you use during pigmentation to make the result look as natural as possible? Yes, there are many small steps that lead to a 3D effect, giving the impression of a real nipple. The pigments are carefully selected and individually adjusted, and the technique helps achieve this nearly realistic effect. Each work is a new situation, depending on what is missing and what needs to be added, there are shading techniques, point techniques, and small stroke techniques. We proceed layer by layer, like a painting, until it is complete.

How do you handle special challenges such as scar tissue or asymmetrical breasts? During the first consultation, this situation is openly discussed, as a scar must be pre-treated to perform the pigmentation well. The scar tissue is prepared using the dermaneedling method. The skin and tissue improve, becoming flatter and softer, which is very positive for pigment deposition.

How long does the healing phase last after areola pigmentation, and what care is required during this time? The areola pigmentation should be protected in the first week. We recommend no sports or physical exertion during this time. The complete regeneration of these skin areas takes 2 months, only then should follow-up treatment occur. In the first 10 days, the areola pigmentation is cared for with SC MedSkin disinfectant spray and Grazia care cream. The exact instructions are given to the client in writing.

What happens if the customer is not satisfied with the result? What correction options are available? Unwanted pigments are removed using our SC Removal method. This involves multiple treatments to gently remove the pigments from these sensitive skin areas.

How long do the results last? After pigmentation is complete, we recommend a color refresh after 2 to 4 years.

What are the costs for areola pigmentation? The costs are calculated based on the effort. It is determined whether one or two areolas are treated. Additionally, it is discussed whether scar treatment is necessary and whether it will improve or not.

Important information: In the case of medical indications (e. g. breast cancer operations, burns and accident injuries), the costs of the corresponding restorative measures (including permanent make up) are covered in part or in full by the health insurance fund or insurance company. You will receive a cost estimate after our professional consultation.
